Sunday’s Special Guest: Kimberly Walters, Author of "A Book of Cookery by a Lady" and Mary Cary Ambler portrayed Kerry McClure will prepare tea service at our hearth and parlor.     Sponsored by the Ashland Museum Greg Glassner will talk about the presidential election of 1832, the emergence of national political conventions, the two-party system and the first third party candidate for president. Andrew Jackson, Henry Clay and William Wirt were candidates in 1832. His presentation is based on his book, Adopted Son, the Life, Wit & Wisdom of William Wirt, 1772-1834 (Gregory K. and Hardy Glassner, August 1997). This book is available for sale at the Ashland Museum.

    Ashland’s Casino Royale Set For October 15th Are you feeling lucky? The Supply Room at 14140 Washington Hwy. will be the setting for the 3rd Annual Ashland Casino Royale, a fundraising event cooperatively hosted by the Ashland Kiwanis and Market Ashland Partnership (MAP). This fun event will run from 6:30pm-11:00pm and will feature roulette, craps, blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, horse racing, door prizes, a silent auction, local vendors, and a long putt contest which will give participants the chance to win a 2016 Chevy Cruze. Catering will be provided by Applebee’s of Ashland. Building upon the success of the past two Casino Royales, this year’s event promises to be the best yet. Net proceeds will benefit the Ashland/Hanover County community through scholarships, the Stuff-The-Bus project, and other activities.
